Duncan works closely with the Senior Leadership Team to drive the growth and strategic development of Commercial Express.

His focus is to establish the long term vision of the company and ensure the right people are recruited for the job and thereby deliver our promise to our agents. Duncan is an entrepreneur with a passion for business, whose qualities include leadership, forward thinking and determination.

Kellie Stephens

Kellie has worked in the insurance industry for over 26 years, starting at General Accident in personal lines underwriting. Her career has spanned personal lines, commercial lines underwriting, claims and credit control with Norwich Union, Aviva, Crawfords and Axa. Her passion is leading her team to provide an exceptional service to our customers.

Helen Holyoake

ACII, MICA

Helen has a wealth of insurance experience, with 24 years in the industry on both personal lines and SME products. Her responsibilities at CE include overseeing risk and compliance, and management of the Agency team. Helen was drawn to the CE value and vision to grow as a business and wanted to work for a company where she felt she could add worth. In her spare time, she enjoys long walks with her dog.

Paul Ingleby

Paul is a seasoned insurance professional with 35 years of industry expertise. Originally Joining Commercial Express in 2009, he has since witnessed remarkable growth and evolving landscapes. With a versatile background encompassing both Personal Lines and Commercial Insurance, Paul had previously excelled as both a broker and underwriter. Now as UK Sales Manager, he is poised to lead his team through the next phase, offering impeccable service and innovative solutions to meet the placement needs of our valued brokers. Paul’s commitment to excellence and adaptability make him an invaluable asset to the Commercial Express team.

Tom Williams

Tom has 17 years in the insurance industry, his previous roles have been working for insurance brokers, MGA’s, an insurance company and also an insurtech company. It will be Tom’s responsibility to maintain existing relationships with a panel of insurance brokers in the midlands. His aim is to provide the best possible customer service and support for his brokers. Tom says it is an exciting time to join CE and he is looking forward to meeting his panel of brokers and developing their accounts while bringing in opportunities which could potentially develop into a scheme or binder.

Ian Barnett

Ian has worked with insurance brokers and MGA’s for over 20 years, with the last 13 years comprising of a decade with Bollington Underwriting and since 2019 here at Commercial Express. He relishes working for a forward-thinking MGA with ambitious growth plans, which strives to deliver exceptional broker service and prides itself on staff development. He has a wealth of experience in developing new and existing broker accounts, and will help you get the most from your Commercial Express agency. 

Adam Kempthorne

Adam is a veteran of the insurance industry with over 20 years of experience, having held leadership positions at Brightside, Business Compare, and BCD. His expertise lies in Liabilities, SME, and Fleet, and at CE, he is focused on supporting and developing his panel of brokers, as well as identifying new product opportunities in niche markets. Adam was drawn to CE for its strong presence in the SME market and its people-centric culture. In his role, he looks forward to engaging with his panel of brokers and finding ways to enhance support from Commercial Express. 

Lucy Bruton

Lucy has been in insurance for over 30 years, starting her career with an Insurer but working for various independent brokers and large organisations such as Bluefin. She has dealt with Personal Lines, SME, Commercial and Professional Indemnity/medical malpractice insurance products and had experience at management level developing and reviewing schemes and mentoring staff. She strongly believes in attention to detail, meeting the needs of her clients and having strong relationships with staff and all insurance partners. Lucy has taken the role of Senior Commercial Trading Scheme Underwriter with CE and is excited to be part of the team and the opportunities that the role will provide including, being a technical referral point for the Trading team. CE are a customer service-driven business, focused on growth and Lucy is excited to be part of the team and contribute to the future success of the company.

Tracey Sutton

Tom has over 8 years experience working in the insurance industry, including over 2 years experience in catering insurance. He is very passionate about providing a first-class service and building successful relationships with agents. Tom is extremely approachable and encourages any agent to pick up the phone for any queries relating to his products.

Chris Hasketh

Chris has over 30 years in the industry starting off in personal lines, but transitioned to commercial over 10 years ago. His speciality is in Liability, Package, SME and Property, both from a broker and underwriting perspective. He is a natural referral point for the department due to his experience and technical knowledge. He is also heavily involved in the development of our underwriting teams.

Sonia Speed

Sonia has 15 years of commercial insurance experience and has worked at Fusion MGA, AIG and Arch in team management and operational roles. Her responsibilities are to lead the underwriting service department and to provide brokers with an exceptional customer service journey. Sonia’s aim at CE is to contribute to the company’s goals and vision of being the number 1 MGA. She looks forward to developing and supporting the team to achieve the company growth plans, by improving and streamlining current processes to ensure efficiency.

Luke Hanson

Luke began working in the insurance industry in 2005, previously working at Aon/Footman James and also The Insurance Factory. He brings both knowledge and experience to the underwriting team and enjoys speaking with our broker partners to ensure our high levels of customer service are maintained.

Kirstie Forde

Kirstie has 16 years in the insurance industry and previously worked for Legal & General & LV=GI. Her previous roles have included Home Claims Handler, Tactical Planning Analyst, Team Manager and Tactical Planning Manager. Kirstie’s responsibilities at CE include being a leader of Servicing and Renewals Underwriting team. She supports their professional development and motivates them to achieve goals that contribute to the growth and success of the business.

Camille Le Long

With extensive experience in commercial insurance, Camille is our go-to solution for Liability policies. Her expertise in construction and higher risk trade liability insurance makes her an integral part of the Commercial Express underwriting team. Camille thrives on working in a fast-paced, varied and challenging work environment.

Matt Warby

Matt has wide-ranging experience in the insurance industry, working at the likes of Footman James and Falcon Insurance, where he was focused on a range of commercial products, motor trade, property and tradesman policies. Since joining Commercial Express he has expanded his technical knowledge and underwriting skills, working primarily on our Liability and Property schemes.

Richard Wilson

Richard has over 20 years’ experience in the industry working on SME and mid-market products, mostly on Combined, Property and Liability Cover. Since joining Commercial Express, he has specialised in Liability but also provides valuable support to our SME scheme. He is always eager to learn and experience a new challenge.

Leigh Griffiths

Leigh has worked in the insurance industry for many years and has previous experience as a renewals executive. Having worked across products such as property owners, catering liability, package policies and many more, Leigh has extensive knowledge of the industry. He deals with our Property new business enquiries but has expanded into our Catering schemes too.

Craig Powell

Craig Powell has been part of the insurance world since 2012, with previous experience as a sales executive across catering, motor, event and fixed site insurance. Craig joined Commercial Express for a new and exciting challenge and is one of our leading Catering and Caravan underwriters.

Matt joined the team from Arthur J Gallagher and has experience including catering, tradespeople, commercial property and liability. Matt is one of our leading Catering and Caravan underwriters. He enjoys working with agents to ensure the best service is provided and building long lasting relationships.

Sharmina Rahman

Sharmina is responsible for underwriting Property at Commercial Express. Sharmina loves to be highly organised and enjoys communicating with customers on both a personal and professional level to ensure our service levels are of the highest standard for our existing customers.

Kieran Jones

Kieran has worked within the insurance industry since 2014. His most recent role was within the motor trade insurance; this included working as part of a delegated authority scheme. It covered mainly road risk elements but often incorporated commercial aspects such as PL and EL. He joined CE because of the opportunity to learn new skills, as well as knowing a few people here already who expressed how valued they feel and how good CE is to work for.

Vicky Griffiths

Vicky has worked in the insurance industry since 2011. Her past experience includes Motor Trade Underwriter at Tradewise Insurance. More recently she worked as a renewals advisor at Insurance Protector dealing with catering insurance and also as an account handler at Arthur J Gallagher. Her experience of dealing with SME, property owners and liability packages means she is well placed to build relationships with brokers and of course providing excellent customer service.

Jordan Pogson

Jordan has 8 years in the insurance industry including working as an account handler at Timmins Whittaker Ltd. He wanted to join CE to improve his insurance knowledge and prospects. He is currently looking forward to getting a better understanding of property underwriting.

Dawn Harrison

Dawn is an accomplished underwriter with an impressive 24-year tenure in the insurance industry. Her vast experience includes working in broking and underwriting support roles at esteemed brokers and insurance companies. Dawn was drawn to CE by the prospect of working in a supportive and friendly environment that fosters professional growth and development in the field of underwriting.

Sally has a wealth of experience as a Commercial Underwriter and her technical knowledge is concentrated in Property Owners, SME, Catering and Liability. Always a team player, Sally always focuses on customer service. Sally enjoys the opportunity to work with a wide network of agents and the best part of her role is building effective working relationships by problem solving and finding solutions for customers’ insurance needs.

Warren Gibbs

Warren has been working in the insurance industry for more years that he would care to mention. He’s a team player who strives to make our agents’ experiences with Commercial Express as straight forward as possible. Specialising in SME and Liability, Warren’s vast experience and sound knowledge of the market make him an essential part of the Commercial Express team.

Nick Taylor

With over 15 years experience Nick has produced eLearning and design for a wide range of clients including the insurance sector, oil and gas businesses, financial institutions and blue-chip companies. In this time he’s worked with content from basic health and safety guidelines, maritime safety, complex engineering processes, fraud awareness to sensitive topics such as harassment and bullying. Nick is responsible for designing and creating original content and engaging courses for CELO, which is key to the training and development of CE staff and is also central to the support that is offered to the wider customer base. He is looking forward to contributing to an exciting, forward-thinking, fast-moving company. He thinks the CELO offering is very impressive and enjoys working on projects with his colleagues.

Claudia Partridge

Claudia has worked in Marketing for twenty five years, bringing a wealth of experience with ten years in the insurance industry having worked as Senior Brand & PR Manger at Swinton Insurance. She has recently joined Commercial Express with the aim of raising awareness of the Commercial Express brand within the industry through a variety of channels, including digital, events, awards and trade press. She’s passionate about marketing and bringing brands to life.

Chris Guess

Chris has worked as a professionally qualified graphic designer for twenty-three years, where he originally began in the print world but then migrated over to digital. In the last few years, his role has developed into Marketing Executive and Graphic Designer by significantly increasing his skill set to work across multiple digital and traditional media channels.  His responsibilities at Commercial Express involve the creation and distribution of all marketing media, developing and implementing new, innovative platforms and software whilst ensuring he consistently promotes and protects the CE brand.

Maria Hill

Maria has worked in finance for 30 years and has been a qualified ACCA accountant for 20 years. She is responsible for the smooth running of the finance department and the production of management accounts. She is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the management team and helping to push forward with the expansion plans.

Brontë Wisbey

Brontë has over 15 years experience in the Insurance industry with Commercial Express, originally employed in the Underwriting department. Brontë is able to utilise the experience and skills gained in supervising the accounts payable and accounts receivable function within the organisation and assists in providing timely, accurate reporting. Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Victoria Walmsley

Victoria previously worked for Wolverhampton Wanderers F.C. Her day duty was working in the commercial department as an apprentice and on match nights where she worked in the hospitality suites. She then Joined Commercial Express in 2009, starting off as the office junior, then progressed through Agency onto accounts/finance role which she absolutely enjoys, and has been doing this for around nine years. Her duties are using excellent communication skills, and attention to detail to ensure that all wholesale, Insurer accounts and accounts payable are kept in order. Hobbies include hiking on nature walks, spending quality time with family and friends. Victoria’s favourite thing about working at Commercial Express is building solid relationships with our brokers and any opportunity to help our charities.

Clare Brindley

Clare has been in the insurance industry for 29 years. Her career started in 1990 as an office junior at Footman James progressing through the departments into personal lines and classic car and bike insurance, she then moved to AON. Clare started with CE in 2013 to increase her knowledge of the commercial sector and has been working within the CE finance department for two and a half years. Clare enjoys building relationships with the brokers ensuring wholesale, insurer accounts and queries are kept in order and up to date.

Alex Leech

Alex has been working in accounts for 18 months and before then was an administrator for over 3 years. Her responsibilities include maximising cash flow and minimising debt, processing all financial transactions accurately and dealing with queries by internal and external customers. She wanted to work for CE because she loves how they reward their staff and offer progression opportunities. Alex is mostly looking forward to seeing how she progresses within her role and is excited to learn new things.

Catherine Rose

Catherine has worked in insurance for over 15 years now, her background is in claims handling at Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Thistle Insurance and more recently over 7 years in a QA role at Footman James. Her responsibilities are completing quality assurance audits and compliance monitoring across the business. She is looking forward to helping develop the QA, Risk and Compliance functions within the business, and develop her understanding of compliance.

Kylie Corfield

Kylie is an integral part of the Agency team. As administration assistant, she provides excellent customer service to our brokers. With 14 years experience in the retail sector, Kylie is a people’s person and enjoys helping brokers. The best thing about working at CE, she says, is being part of a great team.

Nayem has had 9 years of experience within Analytics and has worked at KPMG and FIS prior to moving to the Insurance Industry at Lockton where he spent 4 years working as an Operations Analyst & Claims Analyst. He wanted to work for CE because the values and the family environment appealed to him. Nayem is looking forward to collaborating with colleagues and making a change and also adding value to CE with the use of Data and Analytics.
