Commercial Express Doubles Landlords Emergency Assistance Cover to £1,000

Flooded Kitchen

Commercial Express is pleased to announce a significant enhancement to its Landlords Emergency Assistance cover provided by ARAG under our Residential Property Owners schemes — increasing the emergency call-out limit from £500 to £1,000.

This improvement reflects our continued commitment to delivering enhanced protection for landlords and tenants alike. Under the revised policy, an approved contractor will attend the rented property to carry out emergency repairs if it is affected by an unforeseen domestic emergency. The policy will now pay up to £1,000 for all contractor costs, charges, and materials relating to the same incident.

The enhanced Landlord’s Emergency Assistance cover includes:

  • Complete breakdown of the main heating system
  • Plumbing and drainage; damage to or blockage or breakage or flooding of the drainage or plumbing system
  • Damage impacting property security, including broken locks or smashed windows
  • Toilet repairs, breakage or a fault with the toilet that results in the loss of function, provided there is no other toilet in the property
  • Loss of power supply; the failure of the domestic electricity or gas supply
  • Lost keys; the loss or theft of the only available keys to gain access to the property
  • Vermin infestation, where pests are causing internal property damage or pose a health risk to tenants
  • Alternative accommodation, for one night up to £500 in costs (including transport) covered when an emergency renders the property uninhabitable overnight

This upgraded cover ensures greater peace of mind for landlords by offering more financial support when emergencies occur, helping to maintain tenant safety and satisfaction while protecting landlords’ investments.

Could the MGA explosion be slowed down by an indifference to claims?
