Generous employees at Commercial Express have raised an inspiring £5,680 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Colleagues across all departments of the business worked tirelessly to raise funds during 2018.
Macmillan Cancer Support was voted for by employees as the company’s charity of the year, and a range of activities took place to fundraise for the cause.
These included themed bingo, head, leg and beard shaving, donut sales, coffee and cake days as well as raffles, sponsored marathons and breakfast sandwiches. The teams also held a dedicated charity week with a different event each day.
HR Administrator at Commercial Express, Rhiannon Allport, who organises the fundraising alongside colleague Dany Jones, said: “We have really enjoyed fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support this year and it’s fantastic how much the staff have got involved with our events.
“We are all looking forward to supporting the charity again this year.”
All the funds raised will go to Macmillan, whose aim is to improve the lives of everyone living with cancer and to inspire millions of others to do the same.
Pauline Lewis, regional fundraising manager for Macmillan, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Commercial Express for all their amazing fundraising, their staff are simply the best! All money raised will be spent on Macmillan services in Birmingham and the Black Country.
"With 34 people in Birmingham and the Black Country being diagnosed with cancer every single day, the support of Commercial Express is needed now more than ever."
