As part of the Commercial Express 20th birthday celebrations, we spoke to some of the company’s long-serving, key employees for a series of features.
It was 14 years ago that Brontë Wisbey joined Commercial Express as an assistant with HR duties. After working across various departments throughout her career, she finally found her place in Finance and this is where she has found her strengths.
“I was employed to assist Duncan with HR duties and over time I started to carry out more office junior jobs such as post and filing,” said Brontë.
“I spent some time in NCASS as a catering underwriter, still assisting in HR and then helped in accounts, dealing with the direct debits and reconciling agents’ accounts and insurer accounts.
“After working in several departments, I found my strength was in finance. I have completed courses aimed at team leaders and have done a system training course so that I could also do IP’s accounts.”
Brontë has seen Commercial Express grow as a business during her career and has seen many changes such as systems and office locations.
Brontë, who enjoys spending time with her family, said: “Since starting with the company, I have seen it grow from a team of seven staff to a team of nearly ninety.
“I have worked with several different systems and at numerous locations, each changing to meet the company’s needs. I have gone from working alone in Finance to now being part of a team of five.
“I joined Commercial Express when it was a much smaller business and have seen and been a part of the growth and development.
“I enjoy the type of work that I do and work with a fantastic team.”
This year, Commercial Express celebrates its 20th birthday. Having gone from strength to strength during the last two decades, the company is as much about its people as it is about its products.
Thank you to all the hard-working Commercial Express staff who have made the business what it is today.
